SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County health officials have warned at least three local churches about having services indoors. The county sent out three letters to Skyline Church in La Mesa; Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lemon Grove; and Awaken Church's campus on Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa.The letters to Skyline and Lighthouse were very similar, saying indoor services create "significant risk of spreading COVID-19," encouraging the churches to move their in-person services outside. The third document is a cease-and-desist letter sent to Awaken Church ordering the church to stop indoor operations. All three letters are dated July 17 and are signed by County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten. The letters state that failure to comply with these orders can mean criminal misdemeanor citations with a fine of ,000 for each violation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police officers babysat for a man who needed to go to the hospital Friday night but didn't have anyone to watch his two young daughters. According to the department, officers received a radio call from a young father living in the Alpha apartments. The man reportedly told authorities he was in need of hospital care. “Unfortunately, he had no family or friends to help watch the girls,” the department said.After the man was taken to the hospital, two officers stayed behind to watch the 2-year-old and 4-year-old before taking them to the hospital where they were reunited with their dad.“Dad was emotional and grateful for the support. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County will plan their own guidance around trick-or-treating and celebrating Halloween next month while staying safe during the pandemic.County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten said the county will develop guidance surrounding how to safely celebrate the holiday while adhering to public health orders. Wooten added that they will also take cues from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the agency's guidance as well.Wooten said the county plans to have those recommendations by the end of the month."During the cloud of the pandemic, we have to get joy where we can. So we will be awaiting CDC guidelines but we'll be coming up with a process, a protocol," said Wooten.
