OTAY MESA, (KGTV) -- Construction for President Trump's border wall is set to begin the end of the month, but law enforcement is already prepping for protests.There are not too many visitors at the end of the only road that goes into the border project. Agents on ATVs and the occasional semi truck are about all you'll see.But by the looks of everything being put up, it's clear those in charge know something may be coming and they want to keep it out.People familiar with the border project say the fence was put up in the last few days.The San Diego Sheriff’s Department says they are not involved with the construction in any way but that, “the department is currently evaluating the need and possible location of a 'free speech' area where citizens can peacefully express their viewpoints.”Meanwhile, local activists like Border Angels' Enrique Morones told 10News they are not aware of any mass protest that could take place, but they are worried about possible out of town groups coming in and causing a problem. In the same week as the one-year anniversary of the Standing Rock protests over the Dakota Pipeline, law enforcement is guarding this patch near the border as it could become ground zero for the immigration debate. 1248

On Monday, social media website Reddit banned r/The_Donald, a subreddit devoted to discussing President Donald Trump, as a part of a purge of more than 2,000 groups on the site that were in violation of the social media site's rules, according to The New York Times and The Verge.The move marks a stark change in Reddit policy. Previously, Reddit has allowed groups and individuals more leeway when censoring content on the site.Launched in 2015 along with Trump's presidential campaign, r/The_Donald grew to nearly 800,000 members before it was removed from Reddit. While the group did not have any affiliation with Trump or the Trump campaign, the then-Republican nominee participated in an "Ask Me Anything" discussion in the group during the 2016 presidential campaign.The group has become known for a breeding ground for conspiracy theories. According to reports, the group helped propel the "Pizzagate" theory that led to the arrest of an armed man at a D.C.-area pizza restaurant shortly after the 2016 election. It also routinely hosted Islamophobic discussions and promoted other content many considered to be racist.According to a disclaimer, Reddit says r/The_Donald was banned violating Rules 1 (harassment, threats of violence), 2 (spamming, vote manipulation) and 8 (don't break the site or do anything that interferes with the normal use of Reddit).Reddit had previously taken steps to curtail r/The_Donald. In June 2019, the network "quarantined" the site, meaning that the subreddit would not show up in search results and could not appear on the site's front page. In addition, anyone attempting to visit the forum would be met with a warning screen.The move comes about three weeks after Reddit published a blog post outlining changes to the social network's policies. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man's body was found floating in the water near the Oceanside Pier a week after someone fell from the structure. According to Oceanside Police, the body was discovered by lifeguards around 12:30 p.m. Monday. Police haven’t identified the body at this time, but the incident comes after a man was presumed dead following a fall from the pier at 3 a.m. May 25. RELATED: Person feared dead after going under during Oceanside water rescueAccording to the Oceanside Fire Department, the man was found clinging to a pylon. A rescue swimmer dove into the water to help the man, but he reportedly let go of the pylon and went underwater. Rescuers continued to search for the victim, but were unable to locate him. Ohio's Attorney General and the U.S. Marshals Service announced the results of Operation Autumn Hope on Monday — a month-long, multi-agency crackdown focused on sexually-based crimes in the state.According to press releases from the U.S. Marshals and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, the operation netted hundreds of arrests for various sex crimes and the "physical recovery" of dozens of missing children throughout the month of October.In its press release, U.S. Marshals Service said Monday that "Operation Autumn Hope" took place "during the month of October," and Yost said in a press release that the operation involved "more than 50 law enforcement agencies" at the local, state and federal level.Throughout the month, Yost said that during the operation, 109 human trafficking victims were referred to social services. It's unclear how many people, if any, were arrested and charged with crimes relating to sex trafficking.Both Yost and the U.S. Marshals also said that 45 "missing or exploited children" were "physically recovered." Of those cases, at least one — that of a missing 15-year-old girl — was confirmed to have been linked to a human trafficking case. It's unclear if any of the other missing children cases involved human trafficking.Yost also said that throughout the month-long operation, 22 people were "apprehended" for seeking to have sex with a minor. It's unclear how many of those will face charges, but among those who are facing charges include "a pastor, students, and a rehabilitation resident advisor."Finally, Yost said that 157 men across the state were arrested "on charges of soliciting and other crimes."Students from Case Western Reserve University's Human Trafficking Law Project were partners in the operation. Ten faculty, law students and masters-level social work students met with survivors in the field and offered free legal representation and social services referrals."This experience allowed our students to witness firsthand a prime example of the inter-professional collaboration that is critical to anti-trafficking efforts," said Laura McNally-Levine, associate dean for Experiential Education at Case. "Participants gained insight into the incredible toll this heinous crime takes on its victims, and observed the difference that can be made by providing survivors with access to legal and social services.
