EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV)- 10News took a trip around El Cajon to visit some of the spots most cherished by locals.The first stop was Summers Past Farms, right off Olde Highway 80. Here you can find a calm place to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee and beautiful gardens."We get people from all over," said Owner Sheryl Lozier. They transformed their garage into their very own homemade herbal soap shop. They also have a gift shop on the site. Hogan said the cats are all relinquished by their owners. Approximately 70 cats of the 240 are up for adoption."Sit in the chair, sit on the floor, let the cat pick you," said Hogan. "The older cats are dollars, the cats under eight, up to about a year, those are dollars. And the kittens are 0 dollars."The cats are microchipped, spayed and neutered before they leave the shelter. They also come with a free ten-day vet visit.Or, you can simply come by and hang out with the curious cats, without making any commitments."The cozy cottage, this is where the lifetime care cats are," said Hogan as we took a tour of the facility. "We maintain these cats for life for people when they pass." Samuel A. Schultz, 28, of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania; First Lt. Samuel D. Phillips, 27, of Pinehurst, North Carolina; Gunnery Sgt. Derik Holley, 33, of Dayton, Ohio; and Lance Cpl. Donald Trump Jr. is seeking to scale back his Secret Service protection, four sources familiar with Trump Jr.'s Secret Service protection confirmed Monday.The President's eldest son previously requested to travel without protection during a family trip to Nassau, Bahamas, in late June, a move reluctantly accepted by the Secret Service. Trump Jr. and his family traveled aboard a yacht for several days without his full detail, CNN has learned. A law enforcement source stressed the request to pull back on protection did not come from the agency.The Secret Service strongly pushed back on Trump Jr.'s request to waive protection for the Bahamas trip, according to two sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, but it was "demanded" by Trump Jr. himself. Now, the President's eldest son has asked that his full-time protection end, as well. Disinformation is a problem the country has been dealing with since the past election, but trolls are now getting more specific and targeting communities of color, specifically Black communities.“Bad actors use real cultural issues and conversations happening in Black communities and other communities of African descent and start injecting disinformation and false ideals,” said Jessica Ann Mitchell Aiwuyor, founder of the National Black Cultural Information Trust.A lot of the issues brought up by “bad actors” include talks of reparations and other conversations about slavery.These are real issues that need attention, but trolls will include false information. This ends up causing friction within Black communities and dissuades people from voting.The National Black Cultural Information Trust has made it a goal to counteract this type of disinformation.“So, what we are doing is putting out public service announcements, we are holding teach-ins, we are hosting webinars, we're doing interviews with scholars and activists so they can answer these questions directly,” said Aiwuyor.The group will also use tools to show if accounts have troll-like behavior.It also plans on building coalitions with Black immigrants and Latinos. 1246
