Video appears to show a person pulled into an unmarked minivan as NYPD officers keep protesters away from the vehicle in Manhattan on Tuesday night.Protesters were near East 25th Street and Second Avenue when several arrests were made, police said. It's not clear why the arrests were made.Only one person was shown being taken into the minivan. A man in an orange shirt with "Warrant Squad" written across the back got into the front passenger seat before the minivan drove off.That woman was taken into custody because she allegedly damaged police cameras during five separate incidents in and around City Hall Park, NYPD officials said. Police said the arresting officers were assaulted with rocks & bottles.The NYPD has been using unmarked vehicles for decades, a spokesman said."The Warrant Squad uses unmarked vehicles to effectively locate wanted suspects," the NYPD tweeted.New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson called it "incredibly disturbing."Public Advocate Jumaane Williams said he was looking into it."Concerned about what we are seeing in this video," he tweeted.Lawmakers throughout the city called for answers. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — A Vista bike shop owner is fed up after his shop was broken into for the third time in six months.Early Sunday morning, Jesse McCormack got a call from his security company. The person on the phone notified him that thieves had gotten into his shop, 211 Bikes, again.“I woke up in an immediate panic,” McCormack said.This month, he was supposed to be celebrating his one year anniversary at the location. Instead, he is filing yet another police report.The surveillance video shows a man wearing a hoodie and shorts ransacking the shop, snipping cable locks, and running out.The man captured on the security video took a 2017 MASI Volare worth ,199, a MASI Vivo Uno worth ,999, a Haro Shredder 12" worth 0, a rack of sunglasses worth ,000, and several important files.The first time 211 Bikes was the target of a crime was last October, just six months after opening. No one was arrested for the crime. “It was a wake-up call,” McCormack recalled.The second break-in was on December 10, 2017. They sent McCormack a photo of a man, riding a rare and expensive road bike in San Marcos —The exact one that was stolen from his shop in December.He immediately noticed that the leg tattoo on this rider was very similar, if not a match, to the tattoos on the man captured on Sunday morning’s surveillance video.“He matches the description I have of the prior incident,” McCormack said.This could be a break, he said, hoping that somebody recognizes the man, and turns him into the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.“Action needs to be taken,” McCormack said. “We need to have the ability to feel safe, in order to conduct business, especially as a small and vulnerable business owner, who is operating on a shoe string budget."McCormack is now working with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, asking for increased patrols in the area.He thought about changing locations. Voters in San Francisco backed a plan to tax rich companies to help the homeless.The city-wide ballot measure called Proposition C passed by a wide margin: 60% to 40%. It will be the largest tax increase in San Francisco's history, doubling its current budget to fight homelessness.Prop C entered the national spotlight when big-name tech billionaires began debating the issue.Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff was Prop C's most visible and well-funded supporter, sinking nearly million into the "Yes on C" campaign. He gave numerous interviews and confronted his opponents on social media.Benioff accused Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Square and Twitter, of not not giving back to the city where his companies are headquartered. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed in the 100 block of Estrelita Drive in Vista Friday night. Police say the white pickup truck involved in the crash fled the scene. The crash happened at 8:18 p.m., according to police. Two hours later police found an abandoned vehicle down the road that matches the pickup described in the crash.
