We're about a month into the school year and teachers are struggling to keep children up to speed amid the pandemic.We spoke with a principal at an elementary school in Arizona who says students are about five to six months behind. She's also proud of the kids.“Five-year-olds do not understand that you cannot go over to your friend’s desk and ask what they're reading or coloring, but as far as wearing the mask and being OK when we ask them to step away or ask them to, I mean it's incredible that little kids are able to do it,” said Lewis.Lewis says she wants people to know just how difficult it is for teachers to balance teaching online students and those in the classroom. WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he ran from police and hid in a tree in West Allis, Wisconsin.The incident started when West Allis Police was called to the 2000 block of S. 116th Street for a report of a disruptive teen -- who also possessed marijuana.According to police, the teen ran into Greenfield Park before they arrived at that address. Officers eventually located him, but the teen swam out to an island in the middle of a lagoon. He then climbed to the top of a tree and refused to come down.Police said the teen eventually came down and he was then arrested. 606
